For My Lad DL

Lad is a striking young colt that has all the tools to be an upper level jumper prospect.  His pedigree is full of proven grand prix horses on both the dam and sire side.  Lad is easy to handle and has good ground manners.  He is easy for the vet and farrier to handle, lead and gets along with other horses in the field.  He can go out for any length of time and has good stall manners.  He shows correct conformation, and has natural athleticism when moving freely.  His Dam, For You (For Pleasure) was bred by Lars Nieberg who later went onto competing successfully in the 1.40+ in Europe before being imported to the states and becoming a successful broodmare.  For You has gone onto producing top quality foals that have gone onto competing in the upper level hunter and jumper divisions.  She passes on to her foals her natural athleticism, correct conformation, and striking looks. Lansdowne, the internationally successful Grand Prix stallion is the spitting image of his famous father GUIDAM. A strong body, musculour, excessive power and a lot of elasticity and athletic ability. He has a very strong canter and a good walk.  He debuted internationally with Steven Veldhuis. Early 2011 he came into the hands of Grand Prix rider Conor Swail, who calls him a 'world-class horse'. In July 2013 they won the 400.000 dollar Pan American Grand Prix at Spruce Meadows. Also that year Lansdowne was named Horse of the Year in Ireland!
